Cell Culture – Senior Research Officer

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth laboratory cell culture research, such as cell isolation, clone screening, cell bank establishment, cell recovery, cell passaging, stability research, etc.
  • Develop, optimize and validate new cultured cell lines and new media formulation, ensuring its quality control, as well as developing specifications, SOPs and test protocols.
  • Statistical analysis, design of experiments (DoE) and design protocols to test different types of cell culture media formulations and process optimization.
  • Source for ingredients and formulation of cell culture media and screening for optimal cell growth. 
  • Conducting routine media exchange, harvesting, and sampling to maintain cells in culture. 
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems encountered by customers or cross border team in the application of culture media.
  • Interface and communicate with local regulatory agencies and file for regulatory approval.
  • Handle ad-hoc duties assigned by management from time to time.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Life science or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in cell culture and media development (experience in biopharmaceutical companies is preferred).
  • Experience in media development and optimization and understanding of mammalian metabolic pathways.
  • Familiarity with mammalian primary cell culture processes, cell preparation and quality control.
  • Excellent presentation skills, communication and coordination skills and the ability to identify problems and solve them.
  • Ability to design or review experimental operating procedures, write technical reports and technology transfer documents.
  • Good communication in English and the ability to search, collect and summarize literature in relevant fields.
  • Experience in project management is preferred.
  • Adaptable to short term overseas assignments.
